MtGA Decks

Magic the Gathering Arena is an amazing program.  I’ve been doing the daily quests for about a month now and have played a ton of Singleton when it came up.

Right now, I’ve found a mono-green stompy deck is the cheapest deck to build and has a good chance of winning.  It has the ability to win out of nowhere and closes the game out quickly once you’ve landed a gigantic creature.

I haven’t used the wildcards in game due to the absolute pain to acquire more.  The 5th card problem is serious and Wizards has decided that they aren’t fixing the problem.  Luckily the mono-green stompy deck is 90% out of the precon.

The two money maker cards you need to spend tix on are Carnage Tyrant and Tendershoot Dryad.  Carnage Tyrant goes tall and with it’s trample, can overrun the opponents creatures plus it’s unable to be interacted with.  Tendershoot Dryad will go wide and has an inevitability as long as it’s on the board.  Steel Leaf Champion, Ghalta, Goreclaw, and Plekka Wurm are all great beaters at their casting cost.

At lower rarities, you’ll need to get 2-3 Kraul Harpooner and 2-3 Thrashing Brontodon.  They are useful utility creatures that have high power that allows them to go aggressive when not able to be used for their utility.

The deck requires ~10 games to pick up 4-6 wins and meet the win requirements for the day.  The main downside is it’s hard to get the daily bonus rewards for playing cards/lands of the required colors.
