My company is desperate for pilots and was willing to pay up to 300% for FOs to show up over Thankgiving. I ended up deciding that I would take them up on their offer and picked up a bunch of days at the end of the month.
I was initially not going to take the companies offer, but I ended up getting Christmas off and thus can visit with family then. I ended up picking up 8 days of reserve for 88 hours of pay. Yes, Thankgiving was a little grim being in a hotel and eating the company turkey dinner, but I’ll survive.
Seems the American Airlines pilots may be getting a serious payday due to the airline giving everyone vacation over Christmas!
