Travel Laptop

So, I’ve been enjoying a new Lenovo T470 laptop after my Dell died a few months back.   Hopefully, it continues to perform but thus far it’s served me well.

I have to admit it’s handled the travel well after 3 months.

I did add an after market upgrade by replacing the HDD with a 500 GB Samsung 850 Evo.  Spinning rust is so passe and I love the instant boot/open that a SSD affords.  The small size hasn’t been too much of an issue, I’ve been happy to prune the media I have on the laptop as I’ve gone along.

I did get two upgrades from the factory.  The first and most important was I purchased the upgraded FHD IPS screen.  The screen is very bright and is visible at a wide angle, and the colors pop.  The second factory setting is I purchased the i5-7300U instead of the i5-7200U.  It’s hard for me to tell if the processor upgrade was worth it, but thus far I’ve not hit too many processor lag issues.

I will admit that lacking internet at home, this is my primary computer and I use it for everything and it’s serving well at this purpose.  Seems strange that I’m satisfied with this after having a series of powerful desktops but it’s working.

It might also be that I’m getting used to the travel lifestyle and living on the road.
