{"id":172,"date":"2014-10-14T00:17:08","date_gmt":"2014-10-14T07:17:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chrischiesa.com\/wp\/?p=172"},"modified":"2014-10-14T00:17:08","modified_gmt":"2014-10-14T07:17:08","slug":"legacy-ur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/chrischiesa.com\/wp\/?p=172","title":{"rendered":"Legacy UR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Treasure Cruise\">Treasure Cruise<\/a> and <a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Monastery Swiftspear\">Monastery Swiftspear<\/a> appear to be what a UR Legacy deck is looking for. \u00a0Aggro and the ability to reload make an interesting combination.<\/p>\n<p>To enable draw and discard, there appears to be several classifications of cards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Careful Study\">Careful Study<\/a>\/<a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Faithless Looting\">Faithless Looting<\/a> appears the best. It&#8217;s cheap and you get to chose what to discard. The downside is you net -1 card per time. This isn&#8217;t horrible if you get to cast a madness card off it. The other downside is they are sorceries \ud83d\ude41<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Dangerous Wager\">Dangerous Wager<\/a> is possibly ok. I&#8217;m unsure how often we&#8217;ll be able to live the dream with this but it will likely be card neutral and we may get value. I&#8217;ll also mention that it&#8217;s an instant so you can do it end of the opponents turn and leave countermagic up.<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Control of the Court\">Control of the Court<\/a>\/<a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Goblin Lore\">Goblin Lore<\/a>\/<a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Desperate Ravings\">Desperate Ravings<\/a>\/<a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded\">Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded<\/a> all have random discard but are card neutral. The issue is that you can&#8217;t be 100% sure of getting your madness value out of it. I think that&#8217;s just too much of a downside.<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Wild Guess\">Wild Guess<\/a>\/<a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Tormenting Voice\">Tormenting Voice<\/a> are possible includes because you are card neutral. The downside to these is you may have it countered and just be down two cards.<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Compulsive Research\">Compulsive Research<\/a>\/<a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Thirst for Knowledge\">Thirst for Knowledge<\/a> are possible includes. Complusive Research is the best option because we can throw away unneeded lands and\/or madness cards (or madness+land).<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Catalog\">Catalog<\/a> is like <a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Wild Guess\">Wild Guess<\/a>\/<a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Tormenting Voice\">Tormenting Voice<\/a> only we don&#8217;t have to possibly go 2 for 1 if it gets countered and it&#8217;s an instant, but I&#8217;m willing to tap out on our turn to get a cheaper casting cost.<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"deckbox_link\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deckbox.org\/mtg\/Dack, Fayden\">Dack, Fayden<\/a> is recurrable draw\/discard, but I&#8217;m not sold.
